The Trust is expanding their physiotherapy team to support the increase in demand across all services at this centre of orthopaedic excellence. As a result this new post has been created and provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the team. You must be a Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer with experience and qualifications equivalent to Level 4 (as recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals) and show the initiative to develop and expand this role to include treatment, prevention and self-management.

You will be based in the Physiotherapy Gymnasium and the Hydrotherapy Department, providing one to one exercise based treatments and group sessions for clients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including post Orthopaedic Surgery. Training will be provided for different conditions and procedures encountered, based around a competency framework and include basic hands-on and hydrotherapy treatment techniques.

Within the hospital’s specialist environment, the physiotherapy service is both lively and vital. The outpatient caseload includes GP, Consultant and Self-referred patients creating a mixture of acute, chronic and post-surgery or post-injury rehabilitation. The team provide specialist services within Sports Injuries, Functional Restoration and rehabilitation classes including oncology and paediatric patients.

Staff development is positively encouraged and supported by in-service training and external courses. All staff are involved in the quality management of the department through standard setting and audit.
