Physical Activity Specialist
Band 5 or 6 depending on experience/qualification

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced physical activity adviser to become part of the dynamic and proactive Imperial Cardiovascular Health Service Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust is the UK’s first academic health sciences centre. And provides an internationally renowned tertiary cardiology and cardiothoracic clinical service and has a strong track record in both clinical and basic sciences research. For this challenging and fulfilling post we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with sound knowledge and understanding of the management of cardiovascular disease.
You will be a BACR qualified physical activity instructor with relevant clinical experience within cardiology services. You will need to demonstrate experience in delivering cardiac prevention and rehabilitation, although you do not need to have worked within a cardiac rehabilitation service. You will need to be very enthusiastic about this area of work as well as being self motivated, possess good organisational skills, and be able to work alone and as part of a team.
In conjunction with the multi-skilled team and the MyAction central team you will be responsible providing expert clinical practice. The post holder will also act as a resource to other professionals on cardiovascular disease and associated treatments and issues. You will be taking part in ongoing audit and research activities to maintain quality care provision. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to be committed to sharing of good practice, development of robust professional networks and support of colleagues.
