South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health, community and learning disability services to the people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. We also provide some medium secure (forensic) services to the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber.

A Physical Activity Assistant is required to work within the Physical Activity Development Team within the Recovery and Wellbeing Team.

We are looking to recruit a Band 3 on a fixed term contract until March 2013.

This post will suit a person with an interest in mental health and sports activity. The successful candidate must be able to arrange tournaments, organise events and have experience of coaching in football, rugby and netball. They will posses a minimum of Level III NVQ (or equivalent) in Physical Activity and/or Sports and Level I in Sports Coaching.

Experience of working within a recovery framework will be advantageous. The applicant will also be required to assess and work with service users in a gym environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work evenings and some weekends. This is non-negotiable.
