Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an individual to provide evidence-based advice and support to obese individuals referred to Community Care Western Cheshire’s ‘Step by Step’ Healthy Weight & Lifestyle Service.

‘Step by Step’ is a free six month community-based programme that integrates the key principles of healthy eating, behaviour change and physical activity to help service users lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a nutrition related field, candidates will have experience of working with obese clients and facilitating groups. Candidates should be skilled in the delivery of physical activity to groups of people with complex health needs, possess a Group Teaching Qualification or equivalent and an Exercise Instructor Training Qualification recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals at level II or III.

The successful applicant will be expected to co-ordinate and facilitate healthy eating & behaviour change groups, individual clinics and exercise classes to ensure long term behaviour change. All ‘Step by Step’ weight management advisors are required to play a key role in the ongoing development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the service. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. The successful applicant will be an organised and reliable person with a flexible approach to work. Travel is an integral part of this post, as is the ability to work daytime and evening hours, according to the demands of the job. This post is at Stage 3 of the NHS North West Clearing House and therefore may be withdrawn if a successful candidate is recruited from Stage 1 or Stage 2 of the Clearing House.
