Physiologist (working with GB Sailing)

Job Description

Fixed-term contract until 31 March 2013 in the first instance.

The University of Chichester are seeking a Physiologist who will make a key contribution to the multi-disciplinary RYA Sports Science and Medicine Team, supporting the RYA's world-leading World Class Performance programme and primarily responsible for the delivery and development of sport science support for athletes in the RYA Skandia Team GBR Olympic Development and Paralympic Performance Squads.

Based in Portland and working closely with the University to deliver the RYA's objectives the successful candidate will hold a Masters degree or equivalent specialising in physical preparation of elite athletes, will be a BASES accredited physiologist or equivalent and will have substantial experience in the provision of physiological support, including work with elite athletes in a high performance environment. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to implement innovative ideas and prioritise your workload under pressure. Knowledge of the physical demands of Olympic and Paralympic class sailing is desirable.

This role involves working with young people and the successful applicant will therefore be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
