Base: Alnwood SNH until summer 2022, moving base to Ferndene Prudhoe Northumberland and Lotus Unit Middleborough.

Hours: 37.5 per week

North Cumbria CBU Children & Young People’s Services are seeking to recruit an Sports and Fitness Practitioner into our CYPS inpatients services and secure settings both low and medium secure. The successful applicant will work with young people with mental health and/or neurodevelopmental and/or learning disability. The successful candidate will join the large and creative Occupational Therapy team to provide expert knowledge and skills in fitness and exercise to complex clinical population. Using assessments of the young person’s needs and interventions to both male and female young people within an inpatient settings.

The CYPS service takes pride in developing opportunities, training and learning for all staff. CNTW CYPS service has developed the first accredited specialist training which allows study to Degree level in subjects related to Children and Young People’s Mental Health. Clinical staff are encouraged to participate in both training and delivery of training.
