Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist mental health services and community services for more than one million people in Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton, Stockport, Trafford, Tameside and Glossop. The Trust’s Headquarters is based in Ashton-under-Lyne, ten miles north east of Manchester city centre.

The Care Quality Commission has rated the quality of services provided by the Trust as 'excellent', which underpins the Trust's vision to become a world-class provider of mental health care. In July 2008 we became the 100th NHS Foundation Trust which provides greater freedom to tailor our future plans to best meet the needs of the communities we serve and be more accountable to local people.

The Trust provides support to all new starters, in patient facing roles bands 1 to 4, to successfully complete the Fundamental Care Certificate standards relevant to their role. The certificate provides knowledge and skills to enable staff to perform safely and effectively.

All new starters to Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust who are appointed to a post which requires a Disclosure Barring Certificate check (DBS) will be recharged for the full cost of the check. Substantive staff can choose to spread the cost over their first three months’ salary or, if preferable, pay the full amount from their first months’ salary. Members to the Trust bank must repay the full amount from their first pay. The Trust encourages all staff and bank workers to registered with the DBS update service at an annual cost of £13, for bank members this is obligatory. The cost of an enhanced DBS check is £44 and for a standard check £26, both attract an administration charge of £3.50.

Be Well Tameside currently has over 30 staff providing a variety of services to adults and families in Tameside, including one to one support for stopping smoking, weight management and other lifestyle issues, the service also offers professional training around lifestyle, community physical activity sessions, oral health improvement training, community liaison workers and community NHS health checks.

Role Summary:

Tameside NHS Community Health Checks aims to identify people aged 40-74 who are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease and encourage them to access support for lifestyle change.

It is an exciting opportunity to join Be Well Tameside and the award winning Community NHS Health Check Team as you will be responsible to co-ordinate, lead, market and ensure the delivery of this service in community and workplace settings to meet comissioned targets.

You will provide management and support to a small team to enable them to deliver a high quality, consistent service and achieve key goals and targets.

The post will require you to continue to develop and maintain robust procedures and high standards for all aspects of health check delivery,monitoring and evlautaion that are already in place.

If you have knowledge of Public Health/Health Improvement to degree level, have proven previous experience of organising and co-ordinating a complex, client-facing project, have excellent communication and organisational skills and are able to work some evenings and weekends as required we would love to hear from you
