Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our innovative and passionate Community Health and Wellbeing Team.

You will be integral to the delivery of our inclusive physical activity offer including the Ability Sports and Special Olympics programmes. Both programmes focus on encouraging and supporting people with physical and learning disabilities to be more active. Targeting underrepresented groups and those furthest away from participation, you will be working at the heart of Swindon's community to increase physical activity levels, reduce health inequality and enable individuals to lead a healthier, more active life.

You will be responsible for setting up and overseeing a range of physical activity projects; ensuring that sessions are appropriately staffed, risk assessed and delivered to industry standards. You will be required to co-ordinate a number internal and external coaches, instructors and volunteers.

You will have excellent communication skills and proven success in developing, delivering and evaluating projects, including budget management, staffing and partnership working.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject area and/or substantial experience of working in a sports/physical activity development environment. We are specifically seeking someone who has substantial experience of working with people with disabilities. You will also hold at least a one level 2 coaching/instructor qualification.

As a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act and for the effective performance of a customer-facing role, you must be fluent in the English language.

This role is 37 hours per week.
