We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to play a key role in developing and expanding the existing health walks programme Walk4Life and to implement a new cycling for health Bike4Life programme for Kingston, which aims to improve the health of communities across Kingston particularly involving people from hard to reach communities and those with sedentary lifestyles.
Responsible for recruiting and training Volunteer Walk Leaders, programme logistics, production of resources, publicity in the Borough, monitoring and evaluations systems and management reports, you will need knowledge of community health issues, understanding of health and safety, good team leadership skills with initiative and a 'can do' attitude.
This post is a partnership arrangement between NHS Kingston (Primary Care Trust) and YMCA London South West. Employed by the YMCA, a local Christian charity working with a broad range of people with diverse needs - providing supported housing for young, vulnerable, homeless people; sports, health, exercise and fitness activities; child-care; youth work; restaurant and function facilities.
