An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Gym/Exercise Instructor within the Forensic Service at Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield. The service compromises of

in-patient wards in a medium secure environment.

We seek an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced individual with a good grounding in exercise prescription to provide assessment of service users to develop and implement bespoke exercise/fitness programmes. This will involve individual and group sessions, determined by service user need. In addition to this, you will work with other members of the Team, across the medium secure services to develop healthy living programmes for service users.

You will work as part of the Team supporting other staff in the induction, education and supervision of other staff and students who work with service users on exercise and healthy living programmes.

Support will come from the Clinical Leader for Therapy and Education Services as well as the wider Therapy Team. The post holder can expect a varied and challenging workload which requires excellent problem solving skills and flexibility in assessment and treatments. The service is committed to continued professional development you will be expected to fully participate in ongoing development activities, including participation in in-service training.

In conjunction with the Clinical Leader you will be instrumental in ensuring that an excellent quality of care is maintained and where appropriate you will be empowered to implement change. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, time and workload management skills and the ability to work autonomously both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
