We are seeking to recruit a professionally qualified GP exercise referral instructor for our Get Active Exercise Referral programme. Applicants should be experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated with expert knowledge in the field exercise referral. As one of a team of three, we expect the post holder to be passionate in helping us to achieve our ambition of developing an innovative approach to health improvement through specialist physical activity programmes for people with medical conditions, those identified at risk of vascular disease and sedentary lifestyles.
Working with clients who have been referred by GPs and health professionals, you should have the skills to understand clinical information, assess suitability for lifestyle change and devise structured exercise programmes tailored towards individuals needs. We are seeking applicants who are passionate about promoting physical activity for health with excellent communication, planning and organisational skills to confidently co-ordinate and deliver both one to one consultations and group exercise sessions. You will need to have a supportive approach and be able to work flexibly and professionally to ensure high standards of delivery are attained.
It is essential that you hold a recognised exercise referral qualification and have previous experience in the delivery and development of exercise referral programmes.
