Blended Learning Toolkit

A benjanefitness.com resource for designing blended learning resources

Embedding Google Slides: Why?

  • The slides are more visible and potentially more likely to be reviewed.
  • When embedded any hyperlinks set-up in Google Slides will still work. This means that students can be directed to further resources from lecture slides but also that Google Slides are a great way of presenting content in Moodle. Make a single slide presentation and add useful hyperlinks to a diagram or image. See the Differentiation section of this toolkit for an example.
  • You could share the edit permissions elsewhere on the page and then students can collaboratively produce a resource that can be viewed by all.

What about PowerPoint?

There are share options in PowerPoint and these involve using OneDrive. We think there's a need for students to be signed in with their Marjon OneDrive account to view or to have this sign-in set up in their browser.

Designing Slides

There are some great templates around. e.g. try https://slidesgo.com/
