Salary G6: £29,142 with possible progression to £30,849 per annum

Oxfordshire Sport and Physical Activity (OxSPA) (hosted by Oxford City Council) represents and supports key partners in growing participation in physical activity and sport. OxSPA was one of 14 organisations, from 260 applicants, to gain funding from the Sport England 'Get Healthy, Get into Sport' fund. The GO Active, Get Healthy innovative research project has proved to be successful at engaging inactive people to become more physically active, providing dedicated support and motivation and working with the already established GO Active programme.

The next exciting development is for the GO Active, Get Healthy programme to be tailored to support diabetic patients in Oxfordshire. Strong links have been formed with Oxfordshire CCG, Oxford Health and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts and Oxfordshire Public Health, with crucial developments having been made in the role that physical activity can play in the prevention and management of long term health conditions.

OxSPA is looking to recruit a highly motivated, confident and knowledgeable Physical Activity and Health Officer to be part of the Physical Activity Team, to deliver the highly successful GO Active, Get Healthy programme, supporting diabetic patients in Oxfordshire to become more physically active to help in the management of their condition. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a physical activity and preferably health improvement environment and will be knowledgeable on the long term benefits of physical activity on overall health, wellbeing and fitness. In addition, they will be confident in delivering talks and training and in establishing strong and credible relationships with health professionals
