An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Healthy Lifestyles Team, working within Torbay, in making a real difference to individuals and groups in their community by supporting positive behaviour changes to improve health.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic physical activity specialist who is looking to progress their career in management.

You will work closely with the Deputy Service Manager in the development of an integrated Healthy Lifestyles Service for Torbay and a good knowledge of the Public Health provider service is essential.

The main responsibilities of the role will be in the development of the Community Fitness service with responsibility for delivering community based exercise programmes for those with health conditions and for those on tiers 2 and 3 weight management interventions. This will include line management of physical activity instructor team.

Other duties include supporting the development of new adult weight management programmes (by targeting specific groups and helping the Torbay population to achieve a healthy weight) and raising the awareness of the benefits of physical activity to a wide range of audiences (by delivering physical activity programmes, training programmes, presentations, exercise demonstrations and designing relevant resources to support people in becoming more active).
